OUR STORY

Genesis of a passion
Lucienne LARDENOIS, Bénédicte’s mother, was born near Avize, Marne in 1921.
In 1945, she married for the first time with Pierre KRIER, winemaker, who died a few years later.
With determination and passion, she takes care of the operation.
In 1956, she met Bénédicte’s father, Robert BRISSON, also from the same region, but established as a farmer in Bar-sur-Aube.
Together, they expanded the vineyard in Bar-sur-Aube and sold their grapes to traders.
First generation
of harvester-handler winegrowers
In 1990, Bénédicte rented a small plot of vineyard from her parents.
A series of opportunities, such as the purchase of vineyards and land, contribute to the development of their own family estate.
It was only in 2005, after taking over the vineyards from her parents and having sufficient surface area, that Bénédicte BRISSON and Claude JONCHÈRE decided to build a winery and a cellar in order to produce their own Champagne.

Status of Récoltant-Manipulant (Harvester-Handler)
The term Récoltant-Manipulant, designates winegrowers who cultivate, harvest, vinify and market their wines themselves from A to Z.
There are more than 2 000 Récoltants-Manipulants in Champagne.
The result is a winegrower’s wine with its particular character due to the winemaker’s own choices.
The Champagne Brisson Jonchère produced its wines from plot selection and vinifies a part of its harvest in woods, in order to enhance the aromas of the terroir.
